Observation start time: 08:30:00 Observation end time: 14:00:00 Total observation time: 5.5 hours
Official Counter: Phil Keener
Observers: Craig McCoy, Mike Sankovich, Randy Phillips
Visitors: 53 to the deck, mostly for view and photo ops but some asked about the migration.
Weather: Temp = 10-17C, calm to a wisp to light winds from the ESE for the most part. Cloud cover 90-100%, decent visibility.
Raptor Observations: A little variety but overwhelmingly Sharpies. Local BV/TV activity very evident with some possibly migrating but none counted. Local Bald Eagles and Red-taileds active as well.
Non-raptor Observations: Blue jay movement strong in am. Chimney swifts and tree swallows active as well. Two flocks of Canada Geese. Monarchs - 2
Predictions: Differing forecasts of when we might see rain on Sunday but at least one forecasts no rain during the bulk of daylight hours after overnight rain tonight. Winds shifting to out of the NE, similar temps and cloud cover as today. If no rain, migration numbers would expected to be similar or possibly better than today. Monday forecasts look like a washout at this time. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Parks Volunteer (<parks...>)
