I believe anyone has access to the All About Birds site, but that may be
incorrect.

Here's their information about Chimney Swifts:
https://www.allaboutbirds.org/guide/chiswi?<__hstc...>&<__hssc...>&__hsfp=4137766596&_gl=1*nspiv9*_gcl_au*NDIyNjE4OC4xNzUyNjM4MjI4*_ga*NDQ0NTA5NTY5LjE3MzM1MDgzMzU.*_ga_QR4NVXZ8BM*czE3NjAxMTc1ODQkbzY1NiRnMSR0MTc2MDExNzYwMCRqNDQkbDAkaDE5Mzc2ODQ3OTI
.

Regarding the field data mentioned, Swifts will vary their entry times to
roosting sites depending on light levels. On cloudy evenings they will
enter sooner, on clear evenings they will enter later. So from day to day
the entry to roosts will vary.

What determines the order of entry to roost sites is a puzzle. Do the males
enter first, followed by the females, or vice versa. Or is it age specific
rather than sex specific in regards to roost entry? We may never know.
