We have the opportunity to observe Saw-whet Owl banding at Jug End State Preservation. Tentative date is Oct. 19, rain date Oct. 17 (yes, I know that sounds backwards!) Meet in Nassau at 6:30PM on whichever date we settle on. It is approx. 50 minute drive to the banding site. They can accommodate up to 15 people, so please let me know if you are interested - first come, first served.
Be aware it will probably be chilly if not cold standing around, and it's a 20 minute walk into the banding area with some steep spots. Dress appropriately, have a flashlight - headlamp if you have one, maybe hiking poles if you're wobbly like me.
