Observation end time: 15:00:00
Total observation time: 6.5 hours

Official Counter: Connor Schmitt, Jen Lee

Observers:

Visitors:
Ken visited and helped spot from the road bend.

Weather:
100% cloudy/fogged in mountain to start, cleared up by 9:30. Strong
north/northwest wind all day, 60s. Finally feels like fall! Jen conducted
the count from the bend in the road as the rocks were wet leaf covered from
the overnight rain. Conner overlapped some and counted from the platform.

Raptor Observations:
Nice species mix, but lower numbers than had hoped for, but it is early
Oct. Birds were generally high and far off the ridge, moving quickly, with
a few exceptions. Not counted (most of the TVs, all BVs, a few BAEA &
RTHA). At 9:03 first two birds were spotted rising out of north valley, too
distant to ID. 1 accipiter and 1 unknown.

Non-raptor Observations:
Ravens, towhees. Pileated. Downy, blue jays. Car. Wren, wb nuthatch, a
surprise of a GB Heron crossing the ridge, and 3 groups of Cormorants (18,
13, 3). Two unknown birds crossed the ridge at a distance at about 12:55
(bird time) larger, white heads, somewhat Osprey shaped wings but mostly
flapping and I thought bigger than Osprey. Crossed N to S, probably close
to the platform so maybe Connor saw them?
