My peripatetic partner gifted me today with an abandoned, foul-smelling egg she found along the lip of the sand on Sunset Beach (vicinity of the water-tower house), just before the descent to the tideline. I measured it and compared photos of likely candidates, and concluded it was from a Least Tern (later confirmed by LETE biologists). Given the unusual location, I expect it would be of interest to someone. A photo is available upon request.
