What a delightful cool morning! Excepting the May migratory blitz, this is my favorite time of year. Every morning I sit out on my deck with my coffee and just soak it all in.
The cool front has brought in a few warblers. I seem to be averaging one a day. Today was a Nashville, yesterday was a Black-throated Green, before that an American Redstart. I know I’ve missed some, they tend to move through pretty fast.
I’ve had a Red-breasted Nuthatch coming to my feeder for the last week, something I haven’t had in a number of years. Ruby-crowned Kinglets have been around for the last week. I’m seeing Northern Flickers lately which I don’t see much of in the summer.
I’m still waiting on the other winter residents like the Sapsucker and the Golden-crowned Kinglet. Thought I heard a Yellow-rumped Warbler this morning but, unconfirmed.
