Lisa Ruby and I birded that road and Discovery Lake on 22 Sep and included it all under the hotspot for Discovery Lake. It's where we found the Plumbeous Vireo. Warbler activity in the Tipus at that time was fair to middling with Yellow, Orange-crowned, Townsend's and Wilson's. In Feb 2024 this area had the Golden-crowned Kinglet and we also put the entire checklist under Discovery Lake with GPS for specific location. It is a good place to watch.

On Sunday, I was coming back from a hike and possibly saw (also picked up by Merlin) a Tennessee Warbler along Foxhall Drive in San Marcos. I didn't report it because I didn't have enough time to confidently confirm the ID of the bird, but the Tipus were loaded with YRWA and a good showing of TOWAs and Paul suggested I send a note to the listserv. Tito had mentioned this spot as promising last year so I'm trying to get it back on the radar of north county birders since I am anchored to a work computer most of the day and can't properly bird the area. I'm living vicariously through your posts.
