Subject: [Ohio-birds] Clinton big year birding
Migration has been “off” with the stalled front. But birds around. I had hoped
For wet field - marsh birds. No…. No Sora, sedge wren, etc. It was slow here,
but birds around. Swamp sparrow new for the big year. And county!
I did the Highland county side of this place also. I like to explore! The Highland
Section is drier. The field. Had Hermit Thrush and Ovenbird in highland.

I did a few more stops. Hoping for Sora. Sure…… my last stop was Caesar creek -
Young rd. The exposed mud is increasing! But nothing different shorebird wise.
Who knows what I miss by not getting up there often! A nice surprise was three
Nice groups of blackbirds - Rusty’s! New for the big year. And county. Up to
180 for the big year. And 197 for life! Closer and closer to 200! Life.

I'll be one closer if I can put a LBBG label on a juvenile gull I had at the beach
At Cowan Lake. Juvenile Herring and LBBG is a troublesome combo for me! I am leaning toward Herring though. This is me - worlds worst picture taker. I like a
Live study anyway. The bird was in the water. Not the desired flight look…..
I'll look at my books tues sometime.

Good birding all.
