Observation start time: 07:45:00 Observation end time: 15:00:00 Total observation time: 7.25 hours
Official Counter: Craig Hedlund, John Mercer
Observers: Bob Kelly, Chuck Root, Craig Hedlund
Visitors: Dick Rainier
Weather: Cool day with wispy cloud cover slowly decreasing as the day progressed. Winds varied, but mostly SW.
Raptor Observations: SW winds seems to have slowed down the migration. Had mostly locals after noon including two BE almost land by the bell. Locals: CH, RT, BE, a kettle of 25 TV, none of which went through and BV
Non-raptor Observations: Blue Jays carrying acorns all morning long .
Predictions: Tomorrow will be much warmer, starting around 60 and climbing to 80. Winds will continue from the SW around 5 mph. A great day for the 5k walk, but not a great day for hawk watching. The counter will probably have to move to either the berm or the east parking lot because the gazebo is surrounded by tents and will have a DJ in it. ======================================================================== Report submitted by John Mercer (<mercer1135...>) Rose Tree Park information may be found at: www.rtphawkwatch.org
