- Comments: "This bird was foraging on the lawn near the concrete picnic tables that are just west of the bathroom. I was foraging on the lawn when I arrived and continued to do so while I was there except for one brief more into the riparian habitat along Alva Paul Creek. The was a somewhat small bird about the size of a House Finch or Brown-headed Cowbird (neither present) and it foraging on the lawn like a pipit as it constantly walked and occasionally chased after an insect. It stood out because of its yellowish color and strongly patterned crown with thick brown outer stripes and a thinner yellow central crown stripe. the face was yellow with pale whitish lores and a then dark line that flared behind the eye. The bill looked reddish in the field. It was a fairly bright yellow below (hatch year?) with diffused dark streaks on the flanks and the back was streaked with brown and yellow, the broad yellow streaks forming two braces. The brown greater coverts were edged with pale yellow but the flight feathers were paler, whitish edged. The tail feathers were brown and edged with pale yellow. Photo and video."
