I bought a heated hummingbird feeder after reading about one that Laura Erickson purchased from a real honest to goodness mom and pop business located in Two Harbors, MN. Their story is really neat and I'm hoping their business continues to thrive.Â
We've used our Hummers Heated Delight feeder only once when a late Ruby-throated appeared on the scene in sub-freezing weather and it worked great. I wish I would have known about this nifty feeder when Rufous hummingbirds visited us on two separate occasions for over a week in 2005 and 2009, and it would have been an order of magnitude easier than the 300 watt bulb or chicken brooder bulb suspended near the regular feeder that required the liquid to be swapped out every couple hours when slush started to turn solid.Â
