Weather: Partly cloudy conditions in the morning with winds from the S/SW, and SW winds continued through the day. Mostly sunny, with a layer of haze in the far north gap limiting some visibility. Much cooler temperatures today.
Raptor Observations: Local raptors: TUVU 10 BLVU 8 RTHA 1
1 AD BAEA @ 1304 1 Unknown GOEA @ 1354 - large, broad-winged eagle with steady, stiffer wing beats. Not much wind, so there was plenty of opportunity to rule out other possibilities. This bird emerged into the south notch, visible but semi-distant and low for almost a full minute, and projection of head in relation to body size did not resemble that of a BAEA, as well as slight uptick in outer primaries. Unknown age due to poor lighting. Fall is here!
1 AD RTHA SSHAs: 1 AD male, 1 AD female, 3 juvenile
In the morning, an extremely low COHA flew right over my head. Witnessed a SSHA almost catch a chimney swift on the wing!
