The Bobolink discovered by Jackie Knowlton yesterday at Del Mar Park continued today. It was reported in the morning at the west end, moving along the grasses near the dog park. Around 2:00 it was again reported, now having moved to the east and was moving in the grasses near the stone picnic tables just off the paved trail from the parking area. I watched from the benches as it walked nearby in the mowed grasses. It seemed focused on the possibility of feeding and notf lushed by a few nearby birders. From my vantage point the time of day did not allow for good photos since I was facing into the sun.
A Chestnut-sided Warbler was spotted also, moving in the willows along the creek near the bridge.
A new county bird added to my list was a real treat! Thanks to those present for their assistance. 😊
