Subject: [ia-bird] 2 Peregrine Falcons + 1 hummingbird
This evening, Oct. 5, we still had one female or juvenile Ruby-throated Hummingbird at our feeder in Lansing ( Allamakee Co. ) Iowa. For several recent years they have left our yard on Sept. 21, the birthday of our oldest son and oldest grandson. Having temperatures 20 F above average during the last few days seems to have made the difference this year.

Also, both a male and a female Peregrine Falcon were at the top of the Black Hawk bridge crossing the Mississippi River at Lansing. At this time of year we usually see at least one falcon on the bridge during the final hour before sunset.
