Mounts park might be my favorite passerine migration spot in Warren.
That path that parallels the Little Miami can be good! I am a bit time crunched,
So here is the ebird report for those interested.
Orange crowned and RC kinglet new for the year. It was slow, winds are not
Conducive to new migrants in.
This is a good time of year for sedge wren. The only spot I could think of in the
County is the Caesar creek tower field. Fields! And wet enough for sedges??
I am not up on sedge habitat. But anyway, down by that further pond. Success!
2. And I almost succeeded in seeing one well. It was so close to emerging from
The vegetation, but didn’t….. next time!
That was new for the year. And county.
Butterfly notes - lots! It’s warm out there!
Good birding all. Next up is Clinton. Probably east fork riparian on Monday.
I did a quick count using my excel chart. 206 species for both counties. Yea!
Because I doubt I’ll even make 190 for either county. Shorebirds are non existent in
Warren. No Sora. No Caspian tern. Sigh….
