Black-chinned Hummingbird (Archilochus alexandri) (1)
- Reported Oct 01, 2025 09:37 by Nick & Jane
- Meadow Park--San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.6606531&<ll...>,-120.6606531
- Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S276719742
- Comments: "Fem/imm. I’d been talking to a birder who said he’d heard one. We then discussed the call sounds compared to Anna’s. So I was on the lookout and listening. A while later, a fem/immature hummingbird landed in an oak, providing an unobstructed profile view. The bird was sleek and small-headed with a long downcurved bill, though what stuck me was its clean greyish underside and no green on its flanks The underside also contrasted strongly with its dark wings and green back. The chin was also clean and pale grey. I forgot to note length of wings (See black-and-white warbler for general area)."
