Observation start time: 08:00:00 Observation end time: 15:00:00 Total observation time: 7 hours
Official Counter: Diane Stewart
Observers:
Visitors: Cadon Mitchell and Jeff Hoover (both PennDOT workers) chatted and were interested in the migration. Lisa and Jim Everetts, owners of a local Bed and Breakfast stopped in to see if Darrell was still watching. They said, HI to Darrell.
Weather: Beautiful fall day with light winds out of the N, NE all day. No clouds made spotting difficult at a distance.
Raptor Observations: Quite a few local TV/BV flying all day. They alerted twice to eagles coming in. Raptors were high and mostly found by scanning with the binoculars.
Non-raptor Observations: 3 Monarchs. 22 canadian geese flying in formation. Local RTs not counted. PennDOT was doing some prep work for the paving tomorrow. The flagger was standing right beside the watch. He was shocked how many migrators we have at Jacks. Quite a few groups of blue jays migrating throughout the day. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Darrell Smith (<oleagleye...>)
