Observers:
Visitors: 2 young moms hiking with 3 toddlers (two 2yo's hiking and one under a year in a backpack). Another Mennonite family from outside Huntington with 2 youngsters, scouting for a school-trip location. A couple from Chambersburg hoping for photo opportunities of hawks.
Weather: Clear blue sky all day. Light winds started from the east and slowly shifted to north by 12.
Raptor Observations: Almost nothing to count as migrating. A sharpie, a redtail and even a TV took passes at the owl decoy. Local birds, not counted: 8 TVs. 2 BVs. 4 Redtails, 1 adult Bald, 2 Sharpies. A group of 8 TVs circled low at the tree-tops at and up-ridge of the platform for a few minutes. I could hear the breeze in their wings. 1 nearly hit the owl. Moments later an adult Bald Eagle moved in and scattered the TVs quickly. The eagle continued up-ridge.
Non-raptor Observations: Several different unknown fall warblers from the parking area to the platform. Flicker, downy, pileated, blue jays. Blue-headed vireo, goldfinch. Yellow-rumped, robins, chickadee.
