I too enjoy carbon fiber because of the weight. I have been using a Gitzo for many years. Additionally, I strongly recommend one without a column. It is easier to carry, with legs extended and legs pulled in (of course) on your shoulder for short and long distances, as well as the ability to get closer to the ground.
