Subject: [CT Birds] Bad Bird Joke - Had Me Fooled
Recently driving across Boardman's Bridge in New Milford, I saw a flash out of the corner of my eye - a few hundred yards away a big brown and beige bird was flying onto a small beach.  Not a Great Blue Heron, perhaps an American Bittern, Pallid Eagle?  Cars behind and in front, I drove on and returned shortly.  Bins proved the joke was on me - it was a large kite, tethered, probably to dissuade Canada geese from coming ashore.
