Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] "Rec Center" versus Community Park; continuing Blackburnian, Magnolia, Am. Redstart
Just in the interest of trying to keep the data accurate and consistent, remember that in many or most cases, a "rec center" refers only to the building where one might play basketball or go swimming and that is part of a community or other type of park. For example, the current Cape May Warbler is frequenting Carmel Valley Community Park, not a rec center. Unfortunately, a number of our well-used map services only label the rec center and don't label the surrounding park.
On Tuesday morning, the Blackburnian Warbler and American Redstart continue in Sorrento Valley and the Magnolia Warbler continues in University City, all described as to location in multiple previous posts and eBird lists. Both these sites are parking lots used by businesses, so please everyone be on your best behavior.

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
