Also had what I and a couple of others called a juvenile Chipping Sparrow, but Merlin insists that the first pic is of a Brewer's Sparrow. It is definitely the same bird in both pics, and the second pic shows too much rufous for Brewer's methinks. Judge for yourself:

It was underneath the large Cape May tipu hanging out with Juncos.

The Cape May was refound around 4:30 and was still visible when we left at 4:50. It moved between the tipu at the top of the big stairs to the big tipu with water underneath it near the south baseball diamond.

The beautiful male Cape May Warbler continues in its original tipu at Carmel Valley Community Park.

Earlier it moved to the Tipu in the corner by the stairs and then we lost it for a while. It has come down to the puddle for water a few times.
