Started at Hisey park for the walk Connor led. A nice assortment of migrants
And we learned this riparian corridor area. New for the big year was Lincoln’s
Sparrow and palm warbler. It was slowing down greatly when we ended around
10:30 or so. Summer is back! It was sunny and very hot this afternoon! Joy…..
Lincoln’s sparrow new for the county.
I hit spring valley next. Hot….. and quiet…… no gray cheeked thrush. And no Sora….
That’s a big miss! So far. But a BC night heron! Nice! Caspian Tern is a big miss
Also. Strange year!
Those new fields - ponds they are making near the observation tower at Caesar
Creek have great potential! Next year….. loads of killdeer today! But nothing else….
Least sandpiper is another big miss.
Young rd. Is mainly Clinton county. That’s getting good for shorebirds! Yea.
I need a spot in Warren!!
Butterfly notes - lots of monarchs around!
I did a QUICK scan for the Sabines and red phalarope. No success.
Good birding all.
