Subject: [sbcobirding] Gaviota Birds - Painted Bunting
This morning at Gaviota State Park I found a female-type PAINTED BUNTING in the campground feeding on the ground with finches and sparrows around campsites 37 - 38. Looking at the bird Peter Schneekloth photographed two weeks ago I'm sure this is a different bird because it showed pale-edged wing coverts that formed a wing bar. Also in the creek was a Yellow-breasted Chat. I discovered after looking at photos that it was banded on the right leg. A check of Refugio produced nothing of interest.
