Manhattan, N.Y. City - into Monday, September 29th -
A Sora has been seen and documented by many observers at 1114 Sixth Ave in midtown Manhattan, as of Monday. A Yellow-breasted Chat was a very nice find at Morningside Park - K. Fung - on 9-27, also seen by others that day - just a bid overshadowed by the amazing-Arctic or Phylloscopus warbler at Randalls Island, the latter not yet reported for Monday, after many hundreds of seekers came on both days of the weekend. It is possible the Phylloscopus warbler is still around, of course.
More than 22 warblers of the Americas have been found in Central Park alone right into Monday, with somewhat greater numbers on September 27th. Among the latest have been Orange-crowned Warbler, and many of the boreal-breeders. Among many many other recent arrivals have been White-crowned Sparrows, and at Central Parks reservoir, Pied-billed Grebe - a species which had already shown over a week ago at Randalls Island. There have been E. Meadowlark sightings and photos for New York County by now.
Good birding with thanks to so many finders, observers, and reporters, in recent days.
