Subject: [Ohio-birds] Hoover Reservoir Prothonotary Warblers 2025

2025 proved to be an interestingyear at the Hoover Nature Preserve. The year began with high water levels.Throughout the breeding season the water remained high, providing goodconditions for the Prothonotaries. Numbers were good in almost every areamonitored.

I located 67 territories at thepreserve this year. Because we no longer have a boat in the water (victim ofCovid-19), we haven’t monitored the islands or the shore along most of the eastside of the reservoir. These areas usually add many additional territories toour census.

 Area I (1), Area M (5),  Area N (10), Area S (2), Below Dam (3), BigWalnut Creek (8), Dustin Road (Area L) (6), East Shore Yacht Club (2), Little Walnut Creek (8), Mudhen Marsh (3), OldSunbury Road (10), Oxbow Road (3), Twin Bridges (3), Weise Road (4), Total(67).
