We had a good many Swainson's thrushes in our neighborhood this morning. Red-breasted nuthatch, rose-breasted grosbeaks, a scarlet tanager, 3 red-eyed vireos and Cape May, Tennessee, N. parula & magnolia warblers contributed to the 36 species. The big surprise was not a bird. A river otter crossed our driveway, followed the creek bed and then proceeded along our neighbor's driveway. First time we've seen one on our property.
