Observation start time: 08:30:00 Observation end time: 16:00:00 Total observation time: 7.5 hours
Official Counter: Craig Kochel , Phil Park
Observers: Cindy Bickel, Craig Kochel, Diane Stewart, Mark Shope
Visitors: A busy Sunday on the mountain today with 3 Amish families in buggies and two different groups of Amish teen guys who spent time at the overlook. Many cars & motorcycles also stopped as well as a large group of Jon Kauffman's relatives who came up and look at the raptor eggs from Jon that we used to help welcome visitors during the local Goose Day celebration weekend.
Weather: Clear blue and cloudless skies with a steady light NW wind all day.
Raptor Observations: A nice mixture of migrating raptors observed today along with local Red-tailed Hawks, Bald Eagles, Turkey Vultures and Black Vultures not counted.
Non-raptor Observations: Ravens, Crows, Blue Birds and other small birds were observed or heard at the overlook. Unfortunately, the many stink bugs were very annoying today, but thankfully lantern flies were less in numbers. Thirteen Monarch Butterflies were counted. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Darrell Smith (<oleagleye...>)
