Subject: Re: Vireo Variability
I decided to change the observation in EBird from Philadelphia to vireo sp with the following details

Siz e and shape of a Warbling. Bright yellow throat and softer yellow underparts suggesting
Philadelphia. Black vireo type bill smallish but definitively so. No eye ring, Supercilium strong ,more like a Warbling. Lores not obviously dark, perhaps a smudge. Crown darker than on Eastern Warbling Vireo

Originally identified as Philadelphia due to underparts coloration, especially bright yellow throat. How ever uncertainty about the lores raising doubts

One of the birds he mentioned was Warbling Vireo. I was only a few minutes into the wooded section. After walking the circuit, I returned to the most productive part of the preserve. A fairly open area with shrubs and small trees in old fishery ponds.

Okay I thought, Warbling or Philadelphia. The bird was quite yellow below and definitely had a bright yellow throat. I remember studying the crown color of Warbling Vireos at Siloam Lake, this bird’s
