Observation start time: 07:30:00 Observation end time: 15:00:00 Total observation time: 2 hours
Official Counter: Craig Hedlund, John Mercer
Observers:
Weather: Rain starting around 10:30 shut down the watch until noon. Winds were from the south. Day started with fog moving to drizzle, then rain, to slow clearing by the end of the day. Temperatures in the mid 70's.
Raptor Observations: No activity, even locals were scarce until the last hour when CH,RT, BE and BV appeared. Before that only some TV's, were around and a CH and a RT showed themselves for a few seconds but otherwise were absent.
Non-raptor Observations: 1 Great Blue Heron, a flock of 13 Eastern Bluebirds, a flock of 15 American Crows and 1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird were seen.
Predictions: Tomorrow could be promising, finally NW winds, unfortunately, not very strong, but they may push birds our way. Temperatures starting in the upper 60's and climbing to 80 but the forecast says we should have decent clouds to help spot birds. It could be a good day. ======================================================================== Report submitted by John Mercer (<mercer1135...>) Rose Tree Park information may be found at: www.rtphawkwatch.org
