Subject: [SanDiegoRegionBirding] Lewis's Woodpecker in Santee
This morning at 0655 as I was walking my dog, a juvenile Lewis's Woodpecker came flying down the street and landed on the phone pole directly in front of me. I did my best to get digibin photos as my dog was pulling on the leash and then we continued our walk. The bird was not there when we finished at 0730. So probably not chaseable, but maybe it will find its way to Santee Lakes. I will keep my eyes peeled. Pictures and location on my eBird list: https://ebird.org/checklist/S275391573

The monthly meetings of San Diego Field Ornithologists (SDFO) are currently virtual, open only to members, at 6pm on the third Tuesday of every month.

Two notable on-line resources are available for San Diego birders: the San Diego County Bird Atlas by Phil Unitt (2004) - http://sdplantatlas.org/BirdAtlas/BirdPages.aspx ; and an update of notable records for San Diego County (2002–present), compiled by Paul Lehman - https://bvaudubon.org/birding-resources/ .
