Subject: [Ohio-birds] Warren county big year
I went up helping to relocate the Sabines. My eye hurts…. Too much scope use!
Anyway, I didn’t refind. I went off to Cowan lake next. 30 minutes later the alert
Comes - refound! I was excited and dejected at the same time….. how did I miss it!??
Well talked to another birder who was searching all morning and didn’t see either.
Phew. Where do these gulls go?? Anyway, raced back and refound. Yea! State bird!
My notes on this bird for Ohio say chase immediately. So I will be curious to see if found
Again Thursday. I can update my notes.
I had a migrant flock around mid day. Yea! Near the marina. Picked up cape May for
The big year.
And driving home as I go slow and watch for deer - here’s something dark ahead.
Could it be?? Yes, turkey! Finally….. a county bird! And big year birding obviously.

This was a fun time up at Caesar creek. First time in a long while that the gulls
We’re all over the lake. And 54 common terns! Nice! Probably an inland high
Count for me.

Red phalarope there too! I had a phalarope that I could not get on well at all.
If it sticks, I'll try again over the weekend. I don’t count birds unless I see all
The id points myself. I am annoying……

Good birding all - 168 for the Warren big year. 210 life.
