A friend was biking the Lower Trail this morning and came up on the fresh remains of a bird on the cinder trail near the Mt. Etna access. She took pictures of the bands and sent them to me (attached) to help identify and possibly report.
We were able to figure out it was a racing pigeon (IF25) and found their website to report. She's going to email the "lost bird" contact with the band info. (Serial # 25143)
Also has a red microchip band (Benzing Pro 2)
Does anyone have any other racing pigeon info to share? Local club bird perhaps? I'd guess a hawk kill? Is there a place to report the numbers or is emailing the contact the way to do it? From the website it seemed like that might be how you report that you lost a bird, not that you found one? It wasn't very clear.
