Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 14:00:00
Total observation time: 7 hours

Official Counter: Noel Herdman, Paul Gosselin

Observers: Daniel Lee, Hugh Kent, Liz Kent, Mike Jaber, Noel Herdman,
Paul Gosselin

Visitors:
Big thanks to Paul and Noel for being the Official Counters for the day,
assisted by Mike, Daniel, Hugh and Liz. It was good to see Christine, Neil
and Evelyn on the Tower today taking a great interest in the Hawk Count and
the birds present.

Weather:
Light to moderate wind from the south under overcast sky. Temperature
gradually climbed to 32c mid afternoon. Visibility was good but reduced
slightly during short period of rain early afternoon.

Raptor Observations:
Sharp-shinned Hawks (390) again took top spot today with Broad-winged Hawks
(92) second. Other raptors trailed way behind most not reaching double
figures. We were lucky to spot a couple of kettles of Broad-winged Hawks
way to the north.

Non-raptor Observations:
Better diversity of species today with a few Warblers present. First
White-throated Sparrow of the season. Blue Jay (7860) numbers slightly
lower than the last few days, but the was a good number of Ring-billed
Gulls (198) catching insects over the marsh in the afternoon. The list is
at https://ebird.org/checklist/S274764403

Predictions:
Wind moderate from the SW tomorrow, with an overcast sky and a risk of rain
around mid to late morning may mean the Raptor numbers could be reduced
tomorrow.
