Several doves on feeder and ground. Startled them as I came around the corner. One remained on feeder. Noticed it was different from the usual collards. Thought at first mourning but then saw the distinct white wing bar. Got good looks before going into garage to get camera only to find it gone when I came back out."

Olive/brown above throughout with a pale (yellowish white) eye brow that was long and even in width. Below, the bird hard thick brown streaks over yellowish white under parts."

Mourning Warbler (Geothlypis philadelphia) (1)
- Reported Sep 20, 2025 09:19 by Mario Borunda
- 5451 Sixth St, Carpinteria US-CA 34.39272, -119.51761, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.517612&<ll...>,-119.517612 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S274519755 - Comments: "Seen briefly twice within a 10 minute period. It was about 40-50 yards downstream of the fallen willow where Spencer Seale first saw it a couple of days ago. Heard the chit and then saw it in thick brush, about 3-5ft off the ground. Gray light and shade minimized color contrast. After a brief view it flew further downstream. We went down to the river bottom and followed it downstream where we saw it again about 5-10 minutes later in thick brush along the bank on the apartment side of the river. Overall appearance- scruffy, chunky with very short tail. Gray head, gray/olive upper parts, dull yellow throat and underparts."

Mourning Warbler (Geothlypis philadelphia) (1)
- Reported Sep 20, 2025 10:23 by Steve Colwell
- Carpinteria Creek, Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.5140259&<ll...>,-119.5140259 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S274524356 - Comments: "Continuing bird. Got only a short clear glimpse before it spent the rest of the time skulking within the thicket. Clearly the same individual that Spencer Seale found two days ago; dark above, yellow below, with slight eyering, no wingbars, yellow lining along the folded wings, and no visible tail, skulking near the thicket 150 yards east along the path from the 6th st creek access. Repeatedly made a clear loud chip sound when found, subtly more urgent than a Yellowthroat chip. Sorry, we weren't able to get a picture! Seen at the same time as Mario and Andrea who happened to be there too. Never could refind it."

Northern Parula (Setophaga americana) (2) CONFIRMED
- Reported Sep 20, 2025 09:00 by David Compton
- 7402 - 7418 Hollister Ave (Tech Park), Santa Barbara, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-119.8908561&<ll...>,-119.8908561 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S274496554 - Media: 1 Photo
- Comments: "Two together. First seen at the western edge of the southwestern parking lot and later seen at the western edge of the northwestern parking lot. It was at the latter location where I confirmed there were two, after suspecting I had seen two earlier. Both had yellow on the breast broken with a darker band in the middle. On one bird the band appeared to be narrower and higher on the breast, possibly because the orange lower part of the band was less conspicuous. The belly and under tail coverts were white. The birds were gray on the head with white eye arcs. I didn't get the olive color on the mantle, but didn't get good looks at the backs. Two bold white wing bars were obvious. I confirmed there two when, as I was watching one, I saw movement elsewhere in the same tree, which turned out to be a second bird. This happened several times, and at one point I saw one chasing the other. Unfortunately, I got only one useful photo."
