Another day where you just do not know what to expect birdwise. Fairly quiet most of the morning. No Ruby-throated Hummingbird observed today. Setting up the nets there was a Sharp-shinned hawk hanging out nearby. We managed to catch him and another one doing the course of today. Fifteen bird species captured including a new species for me in Colorado- Tennessee Warbler. Other new species for the season include Rose-breasted Grosbeak (female), Spotted Towhee, and Sharp-shinned Hawk.
*3 Recaptures* Hermit Thrush Gray Catbird Western Flycatcher
The banding station will be closed tomorrow and reopen on Monday @ sunrise. The ranch is open for birding tomorrow Sunday-Please sign up on the Aiken Audubon website. www.aikenaudubon.com
Have a good weekend,
