Hello all,
I had a female Ruby-throated Hummingbird in East Falmouth checking out the red begonias in the hanging basket in the backyard.

Lovely Ruby-throated hummingbird at our patio today checking out buddleia, salvia and the feeder.
It’s been around every day for the last week and throughout summer we had at least two.

I follow Linda Ferraresso’s example, I keep cleaning and refilling the hummingbird feeder until it freezes solid. I haven’t gotten lucky up here in MA yet, but I had a Rufous show up back in January 2001 when I still lived in Durham, NC.
My last yard hummer sighting dates here in Amherst, per eBird:

One has been visiting the feeder today, so I’ve beaten last year’s latest sighting by a few days, but have another full week before tying my latest ever.
