The Louisiana Waterthrush continues in its usual area in the concrete
drainage channel next to Aubrey Park. I saw it foraging under the
concrete footbridge around 1:30.
Not sure how many people haven't seen it and still want to, but thought
I'd post about that area of Poway on Saturdays in case anyone is
planning to go. As a lot of birders discovered last weekend, there is a
Farmer's Market on Midland Road that runs from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.
Midland Road will be closed between Aubrey Street and another street
south of there, not sure what street. I don't know what time they start
setting up, or when they tear down and open the street again. If anyone
plans to go, you either need to take Twin Peaks to Midland, or take
Community Rd to Aubrey Street. The market draws a lot of people, some of
whom walk across the bridges and down the sidewalk on Midland, which
means the LOWA may flush quite frequently. It seems to be a lot less one
pointedly focused on food now like it was last weekend, so could stay
out of sight for longer periods.
