The Pectoral Sandpiper from a few days ago and a new Baird's Sandpiper are both at the way upper, east end of Lower Otay Lake, just a couple miles short of the skydiving establishment. Both are juveniles and both are hanging around closer to the road rather than farther away. Not together. There are also about 125 Western and one Least Sandpipers and about 30 dowitchers of which eight or nine are juvenile Short billeds. There is just barely enough pull out space on the side of the road next to the lake, and there's plenty of traffic whizzing by on this road, all going 60 mph, so I would recommend doing a safe u-turn and parking on the other side of the road away from the lake where it's a little wider and safer. A good scope and patience is needed.
The/A Pacific Golden-Plover continued on stint Island at the Salt Works off the end of 10th Street this morning near high tide.
