Total observation time: 8.75 hours

Official Counter: Kurt/Sally Kraus

Observers: Andy Francis, Gary La Belle, Jonathan Heller, Peggy Holt,
Sue Dibble

Visitors:

Many familiar faces observed throughout the day. Purposeful vista viewers
and other assorted onlookers were many.

Weather:
Temperatures steadily climbed throughout the day. Low heavy cloud/fog
filled the valley to the south of the ridge for the first hour accompanied
by calm winds from the ESE shifting to the WSW by the end of the day. Clear
skies with a high haze for most of the day; additional clouds broke up the
afternoon blue skies.

Raptor Observations:
A single osprey began the morning at 8:15EST and a low-flying single osprey
was our final bird of the day at 4:25EST. An adult Red Shouldered flew very
close overhead at 4:15EST. Kettles of Broadwings accumulated throughout the
day, streaming in turn to the west southwest most at high altitude.

Non-raptor Observations:
Nine dragonflies.
Twenty-one Monarchs.

Predictions:

Two significant kettles of Broadwings were counted late in the day, there's
a strong chance other Broadwings settled in for the day and will rise with
the thermals in the morning.
