I associate G.B. Herons with quiet water, so I was surprised to see one amid huge boulders, ledges, and babbling water in the creek followed by the Casalis Town Line Trail in Casalis State Forest.

I also once saw one picking its way over the underwater boulders in Gunpowder Falls, MD, a high-energy trout stream.
