All,
The adult Masked Booby was seen again on Santa Barbara Island on the booby colony pelagic trip out of Ventura on Sep 5. Blue-footed and Cocos Boobies were present as usual.
On the outbound and inbound route, we had numerous (25+) Craveri's Murrelets, multiple Long-tailed Jaegers and Sabine's Gulls, Common and Arctic Terns, while the shearwaters included a lone Buller's Shearwater. Seems like a good year in So Cal for that species.
There were hundreds of storm-petrels, mostly Blacks with smaller numbers of Ashy. We had a couple of Least Storm-Petrels, with good looks at one of these.
