My records show that this is the latest date I have counted nighthawks but with things delayed this year I'm not too surprised that some are still coming through, and not just a trickle. Sometime between 5 and 7:30 pm the season total of 6,000 was surpassed, something I didn't think would be possible last month.
Again, Randy Langer found many birds that otherwise would have gone uncounted. I will be back tomorrow, probably for the last time this season.
