A much quieter day on the ridge today versus the craziness that we had going on yesterday. ( we much prefer crazy!!! ) Most of our BW flight was on the reservoir side of the ridge with birds streaming by in groups of 20's & 30's. Easy counting for sure ! Cloud cover helped greatly in picking these birds up as they moved down ridge. Also a nice Sharpie day. Our first 3 birds of the morning were all Sharpies and all 3 made a run at the owl decoy earning all 3 of them our Bird(s) of the Day selection.
Non-raptor Observations: Monarch- 16 RB Nuthatch-2 Ravens- 9 ( one was carrying a chunk of meat in it's beak) American Goldfinch Bluejays 2- Barred Owls calling ======================================================================== Report submitted by Jim Thomson (<hawkinflight...>)
