Observation start time: 07:15:00 Observation end time: 15:00:00 Total observation time: 7.75 hours
Official Counter: Chuck Root, Craig Hedlund
Observers: Alan Simon, Bob Kelly, Chuck Root, Craig Hedlund
Visitors: Ethan Kand and some of his cross country team
Weather: A very breezy day throughout except between 2:40 and 3:00, then it picked up again. Cloudy almost all day, temperature barely made it into the 70's. Rain started around 3:30.
Raptor Observations: After the eagle flew over at 2:40, the locals got active hunting, especially the Merlin. Other locals: CH and RT
Non-raptor Observations: 1 Great Blue Heron, 1 Ruby-throated Hummingbird, 2 Double-crested Cormorant and 1 Common Nighthawk.
Predictions: Around a 50% chance of rain all day as of tonight's forecast. Hopefully, that will change by morning. Winds will be out of the NE 10-12 mph with a lot of clouds even if it doesn't rain. Again, the r,idges had a great day today but so did Putney, Vermont which means Broadwings are still in the pipeline. ======================================================================== Report submitted by John Mercer (<mercer1135...>) Rose Tree Park information may be found at: www.rtphawkwatch.org
