Hi Erica,
It seems like this has been a big irruption year for White-breasted
Nuthatches. My impression is that they’re most common east of the
Berkeley/Oakland hills, where it’s warmer. Normally, it would be really
unusual to find them in the low lying areas near the bay. But that’s
definitely been happening this year.
If this hold up, I’m crossing my fingers for one in my Albany yard now!!
