At noon today I heard, then saw, a white breasted nuthatch scouring two telephone poles, up and down, for insects on
California St between Francisco & Virginia Sts in Berkeley. I have never seen one west of the Berkeley Hills ridge before. But, I am interested whether others have. I imagine that in the dispersal of juveniles there may be some who wander or are migrating through.
