Subject: [cayugabirds-l] Lighthouse Point Woods plantings and bird migration
Hi All,
We still have more native plants to get into the ground at Lighthouse Point
Woods this week ahead of the New York State Ornithological Association
conference. If you want to help out, send me an email and we'll make it
happen.

I was down there today with some birders visiting from Belgium. Although it
was quiet on our initial walk out to the point, it picked up on our way
back. First, a group of 4 Great Egrets flew over, heading for Hog Hole.
They circled about six times, and one landed in a tree before rejoining the
others and continuing out of sight. Then we hit several mixed flocks that
included Tennessee Warbler, Yellow-rumped Warbler, Magnolia Warbler,
Red-eyed Vireo, Warbling Vireo, and Philadelphia Vireo. All in all, we saw
33 species there.

Bird migration is in full swing, and birds are using the area. Please
consider helping us out as we continue to make great progress restoring the
native plant diversity to the area.

Thanks
Jody Enck
