Subject: [sbcobirding] possible Alder Flycatcher
Sorry to do this, but in case someone has a chance to get here today, I
thought i would put out there now that there's an empid at the bird refuge
in Santa Barbara that people who know more than I do think could be an
Alder. I'm trying to get higher resolution versions of the photos, which
may settle this without the bird vocalizing, which it hasn't, at least
while anyone was following it. If you do go there today, it would be great
if you could get a recording, if it DOES vocalize.

The bird has been low to the ground on the east side of the little beach
between the parking lot and the water, perching low in the reeds and
sometimes going down to the ground. It has also sometimes flown to the west
side of beach. So, if you're facing the water, it's usually on the left,
but sometimes on the east.

I'll post more info as soon as I have it, one way or another.
