- Laguna Lake, San Luis Obispo, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.6903817&<ll...>,-120.6903817 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S273813292 - Media: 3 Photos
- Comments: "Continuing juvenile at this eBird hotspot since 8/31/25 (Sam Larkin).
Most likely the same individual that had been observed at Morro Creek Mouth from 8/30/25 to 8/31/25. (Last eBird report at Morro Creek mouth: 8/31/25 at 4:35 p.m.)
Viewed at a distance from the empty lot at the Prefumo Creek mouth, preening at the edge of the shrubbery across the lake (on the north side of the lake).
Overall white. Even when viewed from a distance we could see the greenish-yellow legs and feet and a bill that was light at the base and dark on the distal half.

Orange-crowned Warbler (celata) (Leiothlypis celata celata) (1)
- Reported Sep 16, 2025 07:53 by Nick & Jane
- Meadow Park--San Luis Obispo, San Luis Obispo, California
- Map: http://maps.google.com/?ie=UTF8&t=p&z=13&<q...>,-120.6606531&<ll...>,-120.6606531 - Checklist: https://ebird.org/checklist/S273773154 - Comments: "Continuing skulky drab warbler. This bird is difficult to get photos of—my second sighting but it really likes to hide. Extremely dull, lacking green saturation. Dirtyish in texture. Broken eyering. No pics"
Seen several times while I was looking for, and at, other warblers. Heard him calling before I first spotted him—a more emphatic rising Nashville-type call. Other sightings today of the bird were all random while I was searching through flocks, etc. I think I saw him four separate times.
Flies with fierce borbulosity. Bobbed through the air from tree to tree, at times across the width of the park. Forages quickly, but not always. Seen in oaks, sycamore and bottlebrush. Also seen bathing in creek where I heard its tink call. He was then attacked by a phoebe—both tussled on the ground—flapping and bouncing. I thought lil Virg was a goner but he was able to give the phoebe the slip and hide in a bush. Live on another day, Virg, and don’t let the phoebes bring ya down!
